Pest deterrent

Farming successfully requires that we are vigilant to changes in the crop health. The two main large pests we contend with are Whitetail Deer and Turkeys. We are running an experiment this year. We placed 7' posts at the four corners of 480' of rows. Next we ran 50# test monofilament line spaced at ~14" intervals. "They" say that the deer cannot see the line at night, when they tend to feed. Even though they could jump this, they won't because they cannot figure out how high they need to jump. So far this has kept them out, but I'll keep you posted as the grazing & mating pressure increases!
